   PRODUCTS AND SERVICES

QNX Introduces New Web Services Framework for Embedded Applications

QNX Software Systems introduced early April a new framework that enables standards-based web services for embedded systems.

Designed for inter-application communication without human intervention, web services technology enables access to any type of service, over any type of transport, on any type of platform, while using any type of programming language. The new QNX web services software development kit (SDK) offers embedded developers the ability to implement WSDL, SOAP, and XML-based web service applications in native C/C++, hiding the complexity of XML and protocol transformations from the developer.

Solid and QNX Software Systems Enable Rapid Development and Performance of Time-Sensitive, Realtime IP Applications

Solid Information Technology, the supplier of choice for embedded data management in devices that deliver IP-based services like Voice over IP (VoIP), Push to Talk, Media Gateways, and other high-availability network infrastructure components, announced its data management platform has been ported to the QNX® Neutrino® realtime operating system (RTOS).

The integration of the QNX Neutrino RTOS v6.3 with Solid's most advanced version of the BoostEngine 4.2x data management platform provides networking and communications developers and original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) with an off-the-shelf, highly available (HA) data management system that dramatically accelerates system development and time-to-market and reduces total-cost-of-ownership.

SoftIntegration Releases Ch ODBC Package 4.0 open sourced

SoftIntegration, Inc., the leader of scripting technology for ubiquitous computing, announced early April the release of Ch ODBC Package 4.0 for unixODBC and iODBC. Ch is an embeddable C interpreter for scripting, 2D/3D plotting, and numerical computing.

The new release contains the source code for Ch binding to unixODBC and iODBC libraries. Ch SDK is included in the distribution of Ch Standard Edition and Ch Professional Edition. Ch ODBC package demonstrates that it is simple and easy to create Ch binding to binary static or dynamical C/C++ libraries using Ch SDK without manually writing the binding code. The Ch ODBC Package is open source and works in Linux, Solaris, HP-UX, FreeBSD, Mac OS X, and QNX.
